Good morning everyone, my name is Bondy and I have just joined the forum today.

I work in a residential home, caring for adults with autism. I am part of a team that gives support to a male who exhibits very challenging behaviour, specifically of a ***ual nature.
It is directed at staff in the form of constant touching/grabbing of genital areas of both male and female colleagues.

All forms of low arousal and other studio 3 techniques have been employed, but to very little or no effect. Behaviour support plans have been followed, but again, the behaviours have remained, and recently appear to have escalated in frequency with pronounced persistance and aggression. All staff are concerned that the man's quality of life is being hampered, due to his behaviours being inapproriate in house, and especially on community visits where he lives.
Anyone experienced similar issues and could offer advice/suggestions we could try to better support him?

Very interesting , but brief description would not be enough for anyone to clear guidelines and support , however you should contact Andy Mc Donnell on a private email maybe , it is not easy this , and you know you have taken the hardest descision asking for help , good on you ,

It is difficult in these circumstances for people to react consistently in such circumstances. We would certainly need to know more about the differing reactions of staff. I think these behaviours need to be placed in the context of autism and the difficulties people have in understanding social rules. In the past with very similar issues I have had some success with presenting a positive social story. In addition stress is often (but not always) a precursor to behaviours. I would suggest the following:

1) When does the person not engage in this behaviour?

2) What are the circumstances surrounding this?
