Has anyone completed this course or have any information regarding it?

I may have the opportunity for work to pay for me to undertake this so any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Many thanks.

Hi Randall,
I completed said course a couple of months back. I am with the NAS, they paid for myself to go through it. The course is online and is spread over 10 modules ranging from history of services to completing and monitoring positive behaviour support plans. I did it through Bro Morgannwg NHS trust.
Cheers,
CARL.

Positive Behavioural Support - BTEC Advanced Diploma
This course has been developed by the Directorate of Learning Disability Services at Bro Morgannwg NHS Trust. The advanced diploma has a similar structure to the advanced certificate. Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) is the most up-to-date, evidence based approach for effectively supporting people with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour. It is designed to translate contemporary service values into action and includes the key components of person centred planning, understanding challenging behaviour, mental health, the 3-stage intervention model, comprising primary prevention (Active Support, inclusive communication and skill teaching), secondary prevention and reactive strategies. It also shows how to translate plans into person centred action through Positive Behavioural Support. At diploma level there is more detail concerning key topics such as treatment options for mental health, behavioural assessment, and on several primary prevention procedures such as Active Support, skill teaching, and differential reinforcement. There is also an additional new unit (10) which explores key management issues regarding the implementation, maintenance and quality assurance of PBS
Successful completion of this assessed course leads to BTEC Advanced Diploma: a nationally recognised qualification which is mapped against National Occupational Standards (NVQ) and the NHS Knowledge and Skills Framework.

Hi Randall,
It is a good course and interesting. What i found personally was that the approaches and ways of doing things are the same as the studio 3 way of doing things just with different jargon.

Cheers,
Carl.
