Risk Assessments
Like anyone else, service users will be exposed to varying degrees of risk. All service users are entitled to have their exposure to risk assessed. Services should take reasonable measures to reduce the level of risk especially where adverse consequences would have a significant impact on the service user"s health or well- being.
However, human rights in tandem with a strong values base dictates that all service users should be able to make choices which influence their own lives. This includes the opportunity to make decisions which may result in adverse outcomes. Services are responsible for ensuring that such risks are reasonable. Every effort should be made therefore, to ensure that service users are not exposed to unreasonable risk.
This one-day workshop promotes a structured approach to risk assessments. Topics covered will include:
